• Care-related information you choose to share with us once you engage our services — such as medication lists, prescriptions and relevant medical information for the patient in your care. This is only collected once we have agreed to work together and through secure channels, not the general website contact form.
• Facility information, where we work with a care facility — such as resident medication records and staff contact details, shared under the terms agreed with that facility.
• Basic website usage information, such as general browser and device information, which may be collected automatically for security and website functionality purposes.

3. Why we collect this information

We collect and use personal information to:

• Respond to enquiries and arrange consultations;
• Provide medication assessment, management, blister-packing and related services;
• Communicate with doctors, pharmacies, nursing staff and families involved in a patient's care, where appropriate and necessary for that care;
• Prepare monthly reports and updates for families and facilities;
• Meet legal, professional and regulatory obligations as a registered pharmacist; and
• Maintain accurate records of the services we provide.

4. How we use and protect your information

We only use personal information for the purposes described above, or for a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal and medical information against loss, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. Sensitive information, such as medication histories or diagnoses, is only collected and stored through appropriate, secure channels agreed with you — not through the general website contact form.

5. Who we may share information with

We may share relevant information with:

• The patient's treating doctor(s), our partner pharmacy (The Local Choice Pharmacy Sanlamhof, which dispenses medication), or nursing/caregiving staff, where necessary to coordinate safe and effective care;
• The patient's family or authorised representatives, in line with agreed reporting; and
• Service providers who support our operations (for example, secure record-keeping tools), who are required to protect information appropriately.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share medical or care-related information with any third party for marketing purposes.

6. Website contact form

Our website enquiry form only requests general contact and enquiry information. We deliberately avoid asking for full medication histories, diagnoses, identity numbers or confidential medical documents through this form, as it is not a secure channel for sensitive personal information. If you need to share detailed medical information, we will agree on an appropriate and secure method with you directly.

7. Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request that it be corrected or deleted (subject to any legal or professional record-keeping requirements), object to certain processing, and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe your information has been mishandled.

8. How long we keep information

We retain personal and care-related information for as long as necessary to provide our services and to meet applicable legal, professional and record-keeping obligations for pharmacists in South Africa.

This website may use basic, essential technical functionality to operate correctly. We do not currently use tracking or advertising cookies. If this changes, this policy will be updated accordingly.
